During the NSSA board meeting on March 7th, board members voted to adopt a new logo for the Sewer Authority. The new logo depicts the North Santiam River and symbolizes each of the four Canyon communities of Mill City, Gates, Detroit and Idanha with a tree. The trees are grouped into sets of two to represent the two NSSA projects (Project A and Project B). On March 4th, Danielle Gonzalez, along with NSSA Vice Chair Tim Kirsch and Secretary Janet Zeyen-Hall, delivered a presentation about the NSSA at the Oregon Association of Water Utilities' (OAWU) 44th Annual Management & Technical Conference. The presenters discussed the formation of the Sewer Authority, current roadblocks and possible solutions, and the recent allocation of $50M from the state legislature for the NSSA projects.
